Here's an easy recipe using Oro del Desierto!
This time, we're making carrot rappe, a classic make-ahead dish. If you keep it in the fridge, it's also great for packed lunches.
Ingredients:
・Carrot ・・・1 medium
・Garlic ・・・1 clove (or 4-5cm if using tube type)
・Oro del Desierto ・・・3 tablespoons
・Vinegar ・・・3 tablespoons
・Sugar ・・・A pinch
・Salt and pepper or herb salt ・・・To taste
・Chopped parsley ・・・A pinch (for garnish)
*The ratio of Oro del Desierto to vinegar is 1:1.
Recipe:
1. Julienne the carrot. Using a peeler can save time.
2. Place in a heatproof dish, cover with plastic wrap, and heat at 500W for 2 and a half minutes.
3. Once it has cooled slightly, remove excess moisture with a paper towel.
4. Mix the olive oil, vinegar, minced garlic, and sugar.
5. Combine steps 3 and 4. Season with salt and pepper or herb salt to taste.
6. Mix the olive oil and carrots well, then sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
*You can also enjoy adding other ingredients such as onions if you like.
